fight club

last thursday my mum did not cook dinner cos she was out for some farewell dinner....
my gf went for isetan private shopping sales.... anybody who wans to buy from isetan can look for her... she has the member card.... not sure abt the details on discount.....

anyway... i went hme n bought dinner for my sis n myself frm the hawker centre below my block....
i bought prawn noodles and fried carrot cake... when i was walking back to my block i saw the surrounding pple looking at the opposite market... curious, i looked at the same direction too....

.... so there was a quarrel btwn a guy and the blangadesh cleaner.... not sure if the guy was drunk cos they are 1 group of pple who always sits ard there drinking... its too far for mi to hear wat they say.... but the guy was furious and he lifted the chair attempting to swing at the cleaner.... but he was stopped by another of his fren.... not to b mean but the guy looks abit sissy when he lifted the chair.... usualli the stride of the legs will b position to stabilise ur body but his legs were closed together which made the movement looks girly....
while the center guy was trying to stop the argument, the guy went forward again and throw a punch at the cleaner... dan he bounced away with both legs closed together... which looks amusing to mi.... at the same time he held his fits high to protect his face.... the whole show was quite comical to mi though.... aft tat punch the cleaner walked away and everything seems to settle down.....

so i left the scene and i think the cleaner will b reporting tis case.... i told my mum abt tis n she said the cleaner probably provoked the guy as the cleaner is those guai lan type.... mayb he worked here for too long alreadi and starts to get arrogant? anyway i jus find the whole fighting scene abit amusing....

and i got cheated for my prawn noodles... i gave him $3 but seems like the portion is for $2.50.... wat the.....

Wow L, a superb entry.
Did u realised u blog this entry constantly with an excited tone within your words. Sounds great to me…but too bad 'our winning team' did not make it to the top 5. Anyway, did I mention that the 5 of u are just send to test the waters out for this home organised amazing race (really amazing right?). And that we can take part again the next time its being organised!

Imgaine we have got in a team,
1. L
2. D
3. Yewkay
4. Sean
5. Uncle ming
Biangz....really is 'The winning team', and the rest of us can just sit back, relac one corner...wait for them to win and den adjorned to Sichuandouhua for dinner at night.

Anyway, according to Yanyi, its the 3rd time the CC is organising such events, and may well have a 4th time in future! Im checking with her and Augstine when will the next race be held roughly.

Althought i lack the stamina and the physical strength (as desribed by the L(eader)... haha. But but but hor, i would still love to join u all (if not enough people lar) when the next time the race is held...if u all would allow me to, can i can i??? hahaha.

Really Amazing race

here is the reenact of the really amazing race.

this event was organised by macpherson c.c youth executive committee club.... it was a really nice event which we shld take part nxt time round again.... sponsored by great eastern insurance....

the day for mi started at 8.30am... i woke up and took a shower... changed and waited for D to call mi as he will b picking mi up....

at 10am, i met him at commonwealth mrt where he has alreadi picked up doris and song.... dan we made our way to potong pasir mrt to pickup ade... we reached there in like 10.15am and ade is nowhere to been seen...
D gave her a call and she said she jus reached. there were many exits so she was asking which is the correct 1... after waiting for 15 to 20mins, her shadows still cant b seen.... so we were joking to ourselves... how to win the amazing race like this? hahahahaha

we managed to pickup ade and made our way to macpherson c.c... guess we were the 1st few teams to report there... we were dan shown to a room on the 2nd level where the briefings are held.... we sat down n browse thru the itinery and saw that the event will start onli at 13:20pm. It was acutalli their biennial meeting... so there are G.O.H and some meetings to tie the knots.......

waited for so long, we decided to go for our breakfast 1st.... we went to the opposite market for some breakfast... when we returned at 11:40am, the meeting haf not even started...

we found ourselves a corner to sit.... and shortly after, the guests arrived and commencement of the opening speeches, meetings... blah blah blah.....
during the meeting, they announced that there were 17 post vacant for the youth committee and there were 17 applicants... they were proud to announce 17 of them were selected.... hahahahaha wat the.... 17 vacanies with 17 applicants... D, song n mi were laughing non-stop.... oooops dun mean to offend anybody but we jus cant help it.....

dan being the group leader, i collected the clues to the amazing race..... song was realli excited to the game... he took out all the clues and read thru them.... such an amazing race tat song in the beginning alreadi snook mi n D... there was a map of aljunied and below it was a sentence ... song thought dat it was a clue and asked mi n D to look at it.... we were both looked at the sentence puzzled n trying to figure out wat it was saying.. when song said no..no... its jus explaining that the road was named after a wealthy malay al-ju-nied... wat a start... being snook by own team mate.....

while D n i was planning on the clues and path so that we haf a smooth journey, song said tat we can take bus 63 to geylang central where the 1st clue is... so i said good n asked if he noes which direction to go to... guess wat... song: "eh..dunno leh"... hahahahaha tat was jus so funnie... all of us were laughing like mad.... taking a bus not noeing the direction... hahahahahaha.........

anyway we planned our route and when the horn sounded, we started off.... we went down frm a different staircase as other teams which made us the 1st to reach the ground flr.... shortly after we were joined by the rest of the teams.... it became obvious the diference in energy level between those youngs n olds... teams of our age n above simply bo chap and were jus walking while the youngster full of metabolism were running from the start....

we made a mistake reading the 1st clue.... we were suppose to find a bakery shop with initial s.s at geylang central but we looked at the bonus column which stated it was at blk 119.... we rounded the blk twice before realising we were wrong... we saw other groups and followed them.... so the 1st task was to buy the sushi bun... n i finished it in 2 mouth.... we went to blk 119 n took a photo of the pancake king which was the bonus points....

next was to go to malay village.... after walking frm 1st point to paya lebar mrt... we decided to kiv the malay village as it is a optional clue with only 5points. we wanted to take the train to city but the train left when we reached so we took the opposite train going to bedok which was also part of the clue....

at bedok interchange, we haf to buy anything frm the famous goreng pisang shop and dan 1 mee soto frm the famous malay stall.... we had to finish the food... 1 thing abt the malay stall... they haf integrity when they sell the mee soto... we alreadi told the mee soto satu (meanin 1) sikit(little bit) but the macik still gave us 1 full bowl.... the team beside us managed to finish the whole bowl fast when its still piping hot.... peifu peifu....

we finished tat and rush our way to the mrt station so we can go to lavender mrt where the other clues are.... jus as we came up to the platform, the door of the train closed... we saw the other team inside... as there is nothing much we can do abt it... we jus waived at them.... sportsmanship rite.... yah bullshit... jus hoping the train will breakdown... hahahahahah

we took the waiting time to plan for the nxt stop... we boarded the nxt train n started to call C n cy to count for us the eateries in citylink (cy n C... the answer is 13 though both of u gave us 14.. dun ask us we dunno y the website is not updated).... we arrived at army market where we need to buy 2 bowls of bar chor mee and finished all of it.... phew... y did we go for breakfast??? so with assistance frm sean we manage to get our bonus point quickly... the belgium chocolate waffle stall.....

we walked our way to kandarhar street where the nxt clue is... followed by haji lane....
dan we took a bus to cityhall and took a photo at the japanese occupation war memoriable (photos lata)...
frm there we went to collect serviettes frm 3 different coffeehouse.... dan doris was suffering badly frm migrane... she managed to walk to the nxt compulsory clue at esplanade... we need to make a video to advert on esplande..... aft the video, doris fall out frm the team as she feeling giddy.... so she was left in good care wif one of the organiser....

we quickly make our to the merlion where we need to get a tourist to shout "singapore is GREAT" with us... we saw 4 nihon jin walking pass ... quite pretty la... so ask song to approach them but he was like hesitating... so we ended up with angmoh ...ade's favourite... according to the ade... the ang moh is french guy... he helped us wif the video...

dan we need to take a photo of a 5 star hotel which was previously general post office...... (answer frm C: fullerton hotel)..bingo!.... this time round song got the jap gals to took the photo for us.....
aft tat we quickly walked over to OUB to take a photo... think the bollywood are filming there.... alot of indians and some cameras.....

when we were at raffles place mrt we found dat we made a mistake .... we skipped 2 bonus station at suntec skygarden.... wif 15points hanging there we had to make our way back there....
shooting video wif us singing a song to the kids and counting the flower pots ard there.....
dan we took a bus to the national stadium and took a photo of the building that is about to demolish ... it was suppose to b the stadium but we found that the police coast guard building is also demolising.... hahahahaha... we took both pictures anyway....

looking at the watch.. we thought we still haf some time to go back to the malay village... so we took a bus to paya lebar mrt and ran to the malay village to find the hainan kaya toast... kaoz so many shops there n we are all not familiar wif tat place... we cant find it and decide to gif up as time is running out....
we walked frm there all the way back to macpherson c.c and ade was feeling totally exhausted.... she says her leg was going to gif up.... so she could only walk slowly.... we suppose to return b4 5.30pm and we ended up there at 5.31pm....

we scored 210 points leaving out only 1 clue which is at simpang bedok... the 1st prize team managed to complete all i think... they scored 240 points..... wondered how they manage to finish the simpang bedok wif such short time.....

anyway that is the whole race.... it was fun and needs alot of stamina....physical strenght.... fun realli fun....

For his wife's birthday party, a doctor ordereda cake with this inscription:

"You are not getting older,You are just getting better."

When asked how he wanted it arranged, he said,

"Just put 'You are not getting older' at the top,and 'You are just getting better' at the bottom."

It wasn't until the good doctor was readyto serve the cake that he discovered it read:

"YOU ARE NOT GETTING OLDER AT THE TOP,YOU ARE JUST GETTING BETTER AT THE BOTTOM."

A secretary for a foreign embassy was entertaining a wealthy foreign ambassador during lunch at a very expensive restaurant in New York.

The ambassador was so enthralled by the beauty and presence of this secretary that he asked her to marry him. The secretary was startled, but remembered that her boss told her never to insult foreign dignitaries, so she decided to let him down easy.

"I'll only marry you under three conditions."

"Anything, anything," said the ambassador. "

First, you must buy me a 14-karat gold wedding band with a 72 carat diamond, along with a 28-inch studded matching necklace for our engagement.

Without hesitation, the ambassador picked up his cellular phone, called his personal accountant, told him the instructions, and said, "Yes, yes, I buy, I buy!"

The secretary thought that her first request was too easy, so she thought of a more difficult situation. "Second, I want you to build me a 58-acre mansion in the richest part of the Hamptons along with a 40-acre summer home in the sweetest vineyards of France."

The ambassador picked up his phone, called his personal broker in New York, then called another broker in France, and after his quick conversation, he said, "Yes, yes, I build, I build!"

The secretary was very startled, and knew she must think of a final request that would be impossible to live up to. "Finally," she said. "I'll only marry you if you have a 10-inch penis."

A sad face befell the ambassador, and he cupped his face in his hands.

After weeping in his native language for a few minutes, the ambassador slowly lifted his head and said, "Ok, ok, I cut, I cut!!"

Accountants or Politicians??

Five surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients on the operating table.

The first surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered."

The second responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded."

The third surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order."

The fourth surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like construction workers...those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would."

But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed: "You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, and no spine, and the head and butt are interchangeable."

There was a lawyer and he was just waking up from anesthesia after surgery, and his wife was sitting by his side.

His eyes fluttered open and he said, "You're beautiful!" and then he fell asleep again.

His wife had never heard him say that so she stayed by his side. A couple minutes later his eyes fluttered open and he said "You're cute!"

Well, the wife was dissapointed because instead of "beautiful" it was "cute."

She said "What happened to 'beautiful'?"

His reply was "The drugs are wearing off!"

Beng's friend

A businessman on his deathbed called his friend and said, "Beng, I want you to promise me that when I die you will have my remains cremated."

"And what," Beng asked, "do you want me to do with your ashes?"The businessman said, "Just put them in an envelope and mail them to the Income Tax and write on the envelope, "Now you have everything."

Do u have time?

A man is strolling past the mental hospital and suddenly remembers an important meeting.

Unfortunately, his watch has stopped, and he cannot tell if he is late or not.

Then, he notices a patient similarly strolling about within the hospital fence.

Calling out to the patient, the man says, "Pardon me, sir, but do you have the time?

"The patient calls back, "One moment!" and throws himself upon the ground, pulling out a short stick as he does. He pushes the stick into the ground, and, pulling out a carpenter's level, assures himself that the stick is vertical.

With a compass, the patient locates north and with a steel ruler, measures the precise length of the shadow cast by the stick.Withdrawing a slide rule from his pocket, the patient calculates rapidly, then swiftly packs up all his tools and turns back to the pedestrian, saying, "It is now precisely 3:29 pm, provided today is August 16th, which I believe it is."

The man can't help but be impressed by this demonstration, and sets his watch accordingly. Before he leaves, he says to the patient, "That was really quite remarkable, but tell me, what do you do on a cloudy day, or at night, when the stick casts no shadow?"

The patient holds up his wrist and says, "I suppose I'd just look at my watch."

Funny

A modest man is in the hopital for a series of tests. One of the tests has left his system upset. Upon making several false alarms to the
bathroom...he decided the latest was another. He completely filled his bed with human waste and was embarrassed beyond anything he could possibly face. Losing his presence of mind, he jumped up, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window. A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cussing and swinging his arms which drew the attention of the security guard.
The Security guard asked: "What's going on?"
To which the drunk replied: "I just beat the SHIT out of a ghost!"

Jokes

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.

After a moment or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said, "I'm so sorry, but your duck, Cuddles, has passed away.

The distressed owner wailed, "Are you sure?" "Yes, I am sure. The duck is dead," he replied. "How can you be so sure," she protested.

"I mean, you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room, and returned a few moments later with a black Labrador Retriever.

As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom.

He then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog and took it out, and returned a few moments later with a cat.

The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed delicately at the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on it's haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."

Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.

The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150.00!", she screamed, "$150.00 just to tell me my duck is dead!?!"

The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $150.00"

I'm so tired of being here suppressed by all my childish fears. And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave.
Cuz your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone.
These wounds won't seem to heal.
This pain is just too real.
There's just too much that time cannot erase.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears.
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears.
And I held your hand through all of these years.
But you still have....all of me.

You used to captivate me by your resonating light.
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind.
Your face it haunts my once-pleasant dreams.
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me.
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone. But though you're still with me,...I've been alone all along.

Sometimes, we do things we dont like.
Even to the person we like, very very much, do we?

My Bangkok trip- 8-9 Sep 2007

Christy, J and myself rushed off to Bangkok with only 2-days of planning, discussion and reservations. It was an amazing and good trip with them!

8 Sep 2007- Sat

Upon arrival and checking in our luggage in our hotel, Bangkok City Suite. This hotel was nearly the 4th or 5th hotel we booked with rooms available, the rest were fully booked! The location is pretty central and i only paid S$33.00 per night.

We head straight to Siam Centre for lunch looking for Zen restaurant, which was raved for its cheap and fresh sashimis and scallops! And hey, i saw this poster on our way there. The OoTP is still being broadcasted in Bangkok. I quickly jumped in front of the poster and pose for a photo, because that was just my natural reaction toward anything magical! Haha.
The search for Zen was easy. We had a fulfilling meal of the much-raved food and with a Chawamushi and Greentea ice cream with red bean paste. Yummy! You can find these Zen Japanese restaurants at MKB, Siam centre as well as the World Trade centre.

Our next stop was the Chatuchak Weekend market. The best way to get there is by the skytrain which we did, from Siam station to Mo Chit Station for B39 (S$1.76) per pax and realised a cab ride there for 4pax would cost around the same price. Finding our way there from the station is easy - just follow the large crowd of people that will also be heading to/from there. The opening hours for the market are from 9.00am to 6.00pm on Saturday and Sunday, though many of the stalls actually open sometime between 9.00am and 10.00am and close around sunset.

A map of the market. And we walked around the area thats mainly colouredin red. Its very hot in there and the sweltering heat and poor ventilation can kill! Things are not exactly very cheap and the weather sucks, we regreted going there actually, and that time can be more well spent else where. PASS for the next time.

We den adjoruned to Pratunam Market area and Platinum Mall area where we did most of shopping in.This mall is a wholesale mall, so if you buy three items or more, the price you pay is about 30% lower per piece. Four floors of women's clothing and accessories - and it tooked us 3 hours to walk 2 stretches of shops (the walkway is really long and the mall filled with countless shops!- a shopping paradise!)

We had dinner at Nam Shing Restaurant at Chinatown (Cab ride there costed B200, lucky us, managed to get one for B150 only).
Yummydelicous the food were!!!~~ The food here is so nice and afffordable, i wont forget after my trip! We tried the sharksfins soup, birdnest soup, black pepper crabs, sambal kangkong and the ribs for merely S$40.00. The food is guranteed nice+ chop stamp!

After a full dinner, we end our day by heading for our foot reflex and thai massage, drifting off to sleep....also at a very affordable rate of S$20.00.

The next day- 9 Sep 2007 (Sunday)

We had breakfast in the hotel and prepared to checkout. I brought one hand-held bag and one backpack there and retuned with a pinky suitcase full of my stuffs. But Christy was worst! She went there with smaller hand-held bag den mine and a backpack smaller and lighter den mine, and returned to SIN with 2 purple suitcases!

My travelling companions! Chris, J and myself.

We head for the Erawan Shrine. where the 4 Face Buddha was. The Erawan Shrine was full of local and foreign merit makers. People come here to wish for good luck. If their wish comes true then they offer the spirit things like wooden elephants, flowers and food. They also pay for traditional Thai dancers to perform for the spirits. This is a great place to sit and watch the activity for a while. It is also a great place to enjoy Thai dancing for free!

Bangkok is known as the Venice of the East. Sure or not? All i can see in the Chao Praya river was Milo-Bing! - Our next stop. We took a cab to the pier nearest to us (Oriental Pier) to take the Chao Praya Express Boat to the Tha Chang Pier, where the Grand palace was. It was easily accessible by boat and a walk through the market around the pier and out onto the plaza flanked by old shophouses. The long white wall of the Grand Palace is across the street on your right and you can't really miss it.

The sun was scorching hot and so painful on the skin. 15 mins under Bangkok's sun gets me so tanned. Even better den 2-days under Bintan's sun. Just when i thought Chatuchak's was bad, the tour around the Grand Palace under the sun was the ultimate!

Opening hours: 8.30 to 3.30 daily and admission fee is B250 (S$11.25). There are also free guided tours in English available at 10:00, 10:30, 1:30 and 2:00. You can also rent your own audio guide for 100 baht.

I had to change into this Kebaya because you had to be completly clothed when inside the palace. KRUP!!!

Brief history abt the Grand Palace: For just about 150 years, Bangkok's Grand Palace was not only the home of the King and his court, but also the entire administrative seat of government. Within the crenelated walls were the country's war ministry, state departments, and even the mint. Thai Kings stopped living in the palace full time around the turn of the twentieth century, but the complex remains the seat of power and spiritual heart of the Thai kingdom.

Beautiful this place! I took tons of photos with the gold plated walls and statues. We followed the free guided tour for 20 mins and surrendered. Simply too hot, although the story and history were very interesting. I will definitely visit the Palace the next time im there, and fully equiped with lighter dressing, a cap, UV sunglass, umbrella and chill ice water in my bag.

We ended the day by doing some light shopping. We were hot and our feet were beginning to ache and are dying to head home.

Well, that was the end of our 2-days tour. I don’t think you would want to do much more than that. Maybe spend more time doing manicure, pedicures, massages and spa and more shopping in one of the local shopping malls like Central World or Siam Paragon. Maybe even watch a movie, OoTP perhaps in Thai, COOL! And if you are Sean, maybe an authentic Muay Thai at one of the boxing stadiums.

Much raved things to do in BKK:
Thai massage
Manicure and pedicure
Visit the Grand Palace and Wat Arun
School of massage at Wat Pho
Chao Phraya river cruise
Cabaret show at Asia Hotel

Much raved Stuff to buy in BKK:
Ponds magic powder or Bio Naturel Face powder at Watsons
Anything from Boots pharmacy
Anything imitation
Lingerie (at all major departmental stores)

Birthday Thanks!!

Hey every1,

It's an overdue thesis from me since 24th Aug, only 17 days late mah. Not that bad rite? haha

We had a good dinner at Ajisen (PS) on 24th Aug with Amy, Elyn, Cel, Ah rol, UK, Adel, YM, Phil, CL and of coz ME followed by TCC with some chit chat session.

Attached are the pictures of the gifts which i received for my BDAY.

My favourite is the yen currency. Appreciate CL's effort to grab my photo from my friendster to make the currency gift possible and dissuading me to get a Braun Buffel wallet. haha

This watch is a gift from my cousin Benedict and his family.

Once again, thanks to all who shared my present (Deshun, Amy, Celeste, Elyn, Carol, Yew Kay, Adeline, Yaoming, Caiyun, Hanming, Sean, Ian, Phil, Shirley, Lewis and ChuingLee).

Monday blues?

Today morning after work i will be sending my car for accident repair again.... my car will slightly more than year...had resprayed more than 3 times liao....so sad...

Anyway to share with you more on the accident..last thursday evening was sending Meiyan to class, was traveling from PIE(Jurong) towards city....somewhere near bukit timah plaza....the car in front suddenly stop...and i manage to brake in time too..but from behind, i saw a honda civic still coming in at high speed....and guess what he brake too late....and crashed into my rear bumper....luckily no one was injured.

i was gan chiong liao...quickly got out of car and inspected the damages, there was some slight dents on the rear bumper and nothing else..the damage on the honda civic was minimum too...slight scatches on his front bumper and number plate..

the driver quickly offered compensation for the damages....and ask me to quote him a figure...i could not give him the quote as i am not sure how much is the damages...and further more i need to settle down abit before i can access the damages again...i told him i will contact him again.

he gave me his hp number which i called immediately...seeing him checked his hp...i asked him if he got my number...and he mentioned he did....thus not to hold up the massive jam on PIE....i quickly rushed off without taking down his particulars.(big mistake!!)

after sending meiyan to school, i re-inspected the damages...i realised the bumper had drop a little; leaveing a small gap between the tail lights and bumper. The boot also also suffered a dent on the left bottom...

i tried calling the honda civic uncle again...but the hp was off!!! then thoughts starting running through my mind...what if that idiot gave me a false number!! what am i supposed to do?? And that night alone, i tried calling him at least 20 times and even left sms for him....but he never replied....

fri morning, i went to IDAC(taman jurong) to report the accident, the guy took some pictures of the damages and help me write the incident report... i was asked to go to their authorised workshop to do the repairs...and i can cliam from honda civic using his car plate no...finally i felt relived.

then i went to the nearby workshop at jurong port road...it turn out that the i may have problem claiming against the idiot if he does not own up and admit its his mistake...many complications may araised...and the workshop said he will only do the repairs if i will to foot the bill if they cannot claim against the idiot....anyway feeling lousy...i agreed to it since the damages was not that much..just treat it a lesson learnt....so i will make appointment with the workshop again to do the repairs...thinking most likely to do it next week..

then feeling very low...i went for quick lunch and brought some 4D....while on the way home...the honda IDIOT finally called me!!!!!! he gave excuses that he was busy the whole night and handphone was off!! what the f(%^$*!!!! i was thinking how to survive in today singapore with handphone off?????

anyway he told me not to cliam against his insurance...he wan to protect his NCB blar blar blar....etc... he told me to go down his workshop at sim ming to do up the repairs..... so i quickly rush down to the mentioned workshop..i thought his workshop should be veri cheap thats why he want me to go his workshop.

after accessing the damages....the workshop guy told me that he will replace a new bumper and boot for me!!! i was shocked!! what the $%#^&@..... how cheap can that be if to replace everything to new??? then i told him to do panel beating, patch back with putty and respray back will be fine for me.... i told him that if i want to cliam big time...i will claim whole bodykit liao!!! pity that uncle abit lah...but i still insisted to have a replacement car during the term of repairs...he mentioned will take two days...(my workshop can do it in one day!! but who cares...since ppl paying for me)

so later at 930am i will go to sim ming for the repairs...and looking forward to the replacement ride!! hopefully what ride i will be given...

so moral of story!!!! if happen in accident, take down name, IC of driver, take pictures of both cars and the drivers pics if possible!!!!!!! if got witness even better!!!!!

i guess i am abit long winded hor....ai ya....need to fill up the page mah!!

Cheers

IPPT during RT

Hi all,

Talking about ippt, got a scare myself during the ippt test on the 8th session of my RT.
As usual, the army does what it does best - screwing up. My pes status is suppose to be C1L2 which means i do not have to do the chin up station during the ippt test but to my surprise, i had to cos (according to the PTIs) my unit has declared me fit again without my knowledge...

So now after calling up my unit to clarify the matter, i am awaiting their call to confirm my pes status... I dun think i can ever pass ippt if they say i have to take the chin up station since it has been 2 YRS i last did 1 chin up... hahahaha...

Take care ppl

watever.....

Cant think of wat to use for the title so watever la....
probably can use "anything" nxt time round....

My customer has a big customer , Valeo, to audit them today. So they showcased my co. machine to them. They seems to be quite impressed with the performance but of cos made some comments about the vibration during movement.
Well, nothing is perfect... as long as it doesnt damage the product.. it should be good enuff... so that there is room for improvement... if not the engineers in my co will haf no job liao.

They were showing the video of their automotive customer, Valeo, in the canteen. The video is quite impressive as to what the new cars can do. They have infra-red, auto parking, auto stop when accident about to occur. Seems like they eliminating engines and replacing with motors in wheel. Cool! They also have this video clip where there is a down slope with iced surface. They try to drive the car down but the wheels will spin backwards once they touch the iced surface... excellent technology but not useful in singapore... hahahahha...

Celeste... very welcome to take this as ur blog... its ALL of US blog so jus keep the blogs coming in... Like ym says... he dun mind reading all these gossips..
u realli having a happening life hor... travelling in such short notice... and 1 thing for sure... fu puo lor...

eLyn, jus remember to bring back more info when u go japan with celeste.... and mayb u can advise if its good to go F&E.... thks in advance...

Im going Bangkok this weekend!

I woke up this morning feeling alittle tired-of-something, wishing I didn’t have to work. I struggled to wake up and out of bed and drag myself to work...snoozing all the way on the train from BoonLay to Raffles Place.

I reached office at around 9AM and my boss hasn’t come in yet. I talked to my colleague, Christy for a while and she showed me a blog of her cousin who recently just visited Cambodia. And we got an inspiration to travel together after our Sep quarter accounts and board pack are done up.

Mid Oct seem ages away from us and the weeks thereafter are simply not ideal for just a short getaway. We are contemplating an alternative timing to visit this place. And I said: How abt this weekend, jokingly. I assure u, I said that jokingly and not at all serious.
But my siao onz colleague said “OK lor.”

And anyway, we have decided that a Cambodia trip is not possible this weekend as we are still required to get in touched with the guide and arrange for some ground arrangement and stuff like that. And that will take us some time. Hence, she suggested about going to an easier destination- Bangkok, still on this coming weekend, when today is already Thursday.

And yea that’s settled. I agreed to that and we had a short discussion and research on the flight we are taking, hotel to stay in, places of interests to go and that’s it. We are going to Bangkok this weekend comfirmed!
All bookings done as I typed this.
Sounds crazy?
:)
But for now, I reckon nothing is more important than my personal well being nowadays, doing what and be happy about it.
After all, if life is so short….so, Just Do it!

Cheers, Celeste

Trips and Lunch at Jade

Wa. Im just the correct person to go London with. Cool!!!! *In a small voice* we can go to the filming sites of Harry Potter! And Italy must be included in the itinerary leh. And of cuz France as well, cuz we gotta be there to get our LVs!
3 countries, ten days leave and two weekends…make up 14 days.
Perfect for a Europe trip.
Onz?
Ive actually checked with Song and DY previously if they are interested to go Liverpool next year. But they both feedback that Year 2009 might be a better year to go Europe… so I guess I will just look around for other traveling companions.

Btw Pinky, L asked if we would like to join him and CL on their next trip to Japan in Apr. I already said NO to him and that both you and me, we are definitely going to Japan this Dec. Despite not going there in the best of season and according to L, expensive place to visit for snow viewing.
Heck.
We just want to be there, right?
White xmas!!

***

I thought this might be interesting enough to share:
I mentioned I was at Jade restaurant at Fullerton having lunch and celebrating my colleague’s birthday yesterday.
It’s a restaurant that serves Chinese food and at the most premium pricing among the Tung Lok Group restaurant.

Years back when I was doing my Paper 2.5 (A paper on accounting standards), the future-to-be-Dr Kwan is my lecturer den, and he encouraged us by offering a prize to the number-one scholar for this paper- A meal with him at Jade Fullerton!

Ok good enough I reckon, not dining at the restaurant only but also to be able to eat with him! My new target was set immediately. Haha. But but but, I eventually didn’t get what I aimed for, but simply scrape pass the paper with a mere 58 mark.

But deeply embossed in my head, one day, maybe I can have the chance to dine at Jade too,… meal at Jade, meal at Jade, meal at Jade with James. Hahahaha. And I was so excited the first time I was going to dine at Jade for a work lunch months back. (Yesterday was the second time). And anyway, the food:

Nearly all of us we had the set lunch, which consists of 6 dishes of dim sum, fish, prawns, veggies, shark fin soup (all at a miserably small but really really delicious portion) and some sort of coconut almond cream paste for dessert priced at S$68.00 per set, accompanied by a glass of fruit juice at S$8.80 and refillable Oolong tea at S$3.80. We also ordered an additional 3-prawns with wasabi mayo at S$12.00 per plate. Simply delicious and yummy the food, and I reckon it taste even better because its all charged to the company’s account!
Total per pax is about S$109.
Only thing is that, I didn’t get to dine with James.

A student must always work harder than the lecturer. Never the other way round. That's the principle in studying. Just like me, i work harder than my Professor!
(PS: He's studying for his PhD now. Right, cel?)

accomo in philippines

Some views of manila ..... i took them from the restaurant at pan pacific... the breakfast is on the 21st storey...
Actualli philippines is not a bad place to visit.... onli thing is the air n traffic is bad... especialli in manila ... too much air pollution .... n so many cars tat u take 1hour to travel less dan 10km or even 5....

This is the room of microtel hotel.... its jus like wat u c now plus a toilet beside.... nothing else... no internet... no fridge... no thermal flask.... jus a bed and tv...

This is Parque Espania. Bedroom with TV (u cant c it in the pic cos its in the corner)... there is living room and kitchen... they also haf dvd player in the bedroom.... there is also another part of the living room with dinning table which i did not upload the pics here.

This is bellevue.... probably the reason its 4 star and above hotel... the setup at the lobby is grand n cozy with pretty receptionist.... the room as u can c is quite big.... plus free broadband in the room....

The toilet of pan pacific hotel.... can u c the small tv in the corner.... no wonder u pay so much for jus 1 nite... but its cheaper dan bellevue by USD5....
